Innovative-IDM Acquires Advanced Control Engineering Supply

January 3, 2013

Acquisition bolsters Memphis area factory automation and control distributor.

Carrollton, Texas – Innovative-IDM, one of the Gulf Region’s leading distributors of factory automation and controls parts, factory repairs, and a five-time INC 5000 Award recipient, announced today it has purchased Advanced Control Engineering Supply (ACES) of Jackson, Tenn.

ACES operations, inventory and personnel will fold into the Memphis branch of Innovative-IDM. In 2012, I-IDM moved its Memphis branch to a newer 5,000-square foot warehouse and office facility in Bartlett, Tenn.

Since 2010, Innovative-IDM has made several acquisitions, including Omron Service Centers (2010), MidSouth Drives and Controls (2010), and Mainframe Concepts (2011).

“Advanced Control Engineering Supply has a strong and positive history in the Memphis area manufacturing community,” said Gene Gray, president of Innovative-IDM, who also praised the reputation of ACES owner Todd Warren. “Todd is one of the strongest assets we gain from this acquisition and adding his industry and technical knowledge to our team is a big plus for all of our customers. The real winner will be our combined customers.”

Says Warren, “I’m really looking forward being a part of a strong team. Innovative-IDM has an outstanding reputation and a track record of success.”

ACES started in 2001 in Jackson, Tenn., as a stocking distributor for OMRON and other automation and control lines, eventually carrying nearly 30 lines of product. Innovative-IDM brings nearly four decades of expertise in parts distribution, field service, and component repairs and is an undisputed authority on everything related to AC and DC Drives.

Innovative-IDM, a five-time INC 5000 Award recipient, is headquartered in Carrollton, Texas, with locations in Houston, Baton Rouge, Little Rock, Memphis, Oklahoma City, San Antonio, and Tulsa. Besides offering industrial field service at all locations, I-IDM also operates a substantial industrial electronics repair facility in Houston.
