Innovative-IDM Names Vice President of Sales

Tim Mueller, company co-founder, promoted to newly-created position

Carrollton, Texas – Innovative-IDM, one of the Southwest’s leading distributors of factory automation and controls parts and a four-time INC 5000 Award recipient announced today it has promoted Tim Mueller to Vice President of Sales for all branches. Innovative-IDM has branch location in Dallas-FtWorth, Houston and Memphis.

Mueller, 41, brings 18 years of factory automation experience to the position with the company he helped found in 2000. Prior to assuming the newly-created position of Vice President, Mueller was the company’s Regional Sales Manager. Prior to Innovative-IDM, Mueller worked at Minarik Automation and Control.

“Tim’s positive attitude, dedication to having fun, and selfless desire to help those around him made it easy to select him for this very important position,” said Gene Gray, president of Innovative-IDM. “He’s done nearly every job in this company and has developed into a very capable leader.”

Innovative-IDM offers automation and motion control parts, repairs and field service for industrial electronics, contract manufacturing of electrical and pneumatic controls, and AC/DC drive systems integration solutions.

Legendary Customer Service!

At Innovative, customer service is COMPETITIVE. We push each other internally to raise the bar on customer service. Sure, we have our winning team of employees. But, the real winner is YOU, our customer!

Did you know all Innovative employees are divided into four different internal teams? These teams compete monthly to see which team can help customers the most! The team that accumulates the most points for the month wins!

At 8:30 a.m. every workday, the entire Innovative team meets to share LEGENDARY acts from the previous day. Team members are recognized and earn points for helping customers, not in an average way but in a way that is LEGENDARY! At the end of each week, the one person who performed the most LEGENDARY act for the week is recognized.

Week 1: Lonnie Wins! Most Legendary Customer Service Act of the Week!

“Ask Lonnie” is a common phrase in the hallways of IA HQ. So when the customer called in with an incomplete part number, our customer service agent took the problem to Lonnie Muse. After about an hour of research, Lonnie deciphered the problem, had the correct part number pegged and the customer had the part on order without any extra effort. Truly LEGENDARY service.


Week 2: Britt Wins! Most Legendary Customer Service Act of the Week!

In 2009, several members of the Innovative staff joined the exclusive President’s Club which meant (this year) a seven-day cruise in the Caribbean with president Gene Gray and everyone’s spouse. Well, these kind of trips don’t just happen by magic, and it was Britt Welch’s planning of all the arrangements that made the travel part of the trip uneventful. In other words, everything was perfectly planned, and Britt made it happen.


Week 3: Brad Wins! Most Legendary Customer Service Act of the Week!

Innovative’s Mike Davila was onsite with a customer (as usual) and the topic of conversation turned to customer service. In most instances in the continental US, these conversations are about problems. However, in the World According to Innovative, they often go like this one — the customer singing the praises of how well they are taken care of by our staff. In this particular instance, it was Brad Swift who was singled out as the Keeper of LEGENDARY customer service. Nice job, Brad.


Week 4: Value Added Services Staff Wins! Most Legendary Customer Service Act of the Week!

With their backs to the wall on deadline, Michael Moore, Cyrus Jahani, Carlos Cardenes, Nasario Cano rocked out some control panels for a customer. Turns out in the end, they delivered a day early. Took a lot of late hours to make it happen, and the VAS was LEGENDARY to the task.

Man, what a week. We were rockin’ out the product this past week and we thank you for your business. Now, it’s Saturday and things have settled a bit. Time for bloggers to get busy.

This is Fur, who lives with the Hastings’ in Double Oak, Texas. If you actually shaved her, she would look like a skinny rat.

Fur is a battle-tested mouser, a damn good hunter. Her trademark is to chew the face off of her prey and then leave it where you step on it in the morning. Lovely.

Vlad the Impaler Meets Innovative Automation

vladtepesKen, Gene and I just ended our day with a light-hearted, lively discussion about Vlad the Impaler and how in the 1400s he repelled the invading Turks with a display of impaled bodies. This, from the Vlad entry in Wikipedia:

It was reported that an invading Ottoman army turned back in fright when it encountered thousands of rotting corpses impaled on the banks of the Danube.[2]

Somehow, we got here by way of a conversation about selling Yaskawa MotionWAGO and the fact that Innovative’s Todd Mueller celebrating his 9-year anniversary at tomorrow. Happy anniversary, Todd! — pepper

Saturday Pet Post

Busy week here on the blog. Lot’s of traffic with videos, first Web sites, and for some reason, Factory Automation in WWII keeps gaining ground in hits. Go figure. But weekends . . . anybody out there? So, we go back to pet photos and a reminder to visit for all of your automation control and flow control needs.

So here’s Jackson, a Great Dane who is 100 pounds but sleeps in a 24-inch bed. Lives in Fort Worth with the Mueller family.  You gotta a cat or dog or I guess any kind of pet you want us to feature? Send a photo and tell us why the little critter is special to  C’mon, go ahead and send it. You know you want to.
