Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt in the Same Photo

April 15, 2013

How likely is it that Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln would be in the same photograph, when Roosevelt was only six years old at the time of Lincoln’s assassination?  The photo below shows Lincoln’s funeral procession passing the Roosevelt Mansion in New York City.  Two little boys, identified as Teddy and Elliot Roosevelt,  look out from the second story window.  One of history’s little coincidences, in remembrance of President Lincoln. Pretty cool.

Abraham Lincoln successfully led the country through its greatest internal crisis, the American Civil War, preserving the Union and ending slavery.

That’s probably worth a high-five or a helmet star or something, isn’t it?  Today, on his 200th birthday, we remember our 16th president.
