SMC MTS Precision Cylinder Guided Actuator

The MTS cylinder provides superior non-rotating accuracy and linear stability in a compact package. Traditional non-rotating cylinders typically can only hold position to within 0.5° and have inherent sealing problems. Integrating a ball spline as the rod bearing, this cylinder approximates the non-rotational accuracy of a guided cylinder without the added space requirements of external guide rods. In addition, a special rod seal design limits leakage to the equivalent of a round piston rod seal. An optional end lock retains the rod in the retracted position even in the event of loss of air pressure for added safety. Mounting can be done from four precisely machined faces with parallelism of less than 0.1mm.

For each phase of a three-phase supply network, WAGO’s power measurement modules calculate the following energy and consumption data via rms values of current/voltage: Active energy/power/factor, phase position, reactive/apparent power, as well as rotary field detection, peak current and power factor. In supply networks, overlapping harmonic power oscillations may have a negative impact on connected loads. The 750-494 Module permits internal harmonic analysis up to the 40th harmonic.

Typically, a textured etching application attempts to etch small pyramid structures on the surface of the wafer. The diagram below shows how a textured silicon substrate compares with a flat one. The textured substrate allows less light to be reflected off of the surface of the substrate. It reflects more light back into the substrate. Therefore, more light is captured by the solar cells, allowing for more light to be processed into electrical energy.

An XYZ positioning application can be used to perform the textured etching onto the wafer. Yaskawa rotary or linear servomotors and servo amplifiers can be used to accomplish the texturing. Sigma-5 amplifiers perform with a 1.6 kHz frequency response. When fine tuned, they are capable of reducing settling times down to under 4ms. This allows for higher cycle times. All Sigma-5 servomotors feature a standard 20-bit absolute encoder. This provides greater positional precision and enhances repeatability, both keys for semiconductor and solar applications.
