Industrial Electronic Board Repair: Big or Small We Fix Them All

January 30, 2014

Image

This little printed circuit board is just two inches square, but is the proud work of James N in the Innovative-IDM board repair department. About 30 percent of this substrate was missing and James took the time to do the tedious work to rebuild the circuit board and replace the traces.  It’s a lot of work, but sometimes the customer has no choice — the part just simply cannot be replaced because it’s on a legacy machine, the part is discontinued, etc. They turn to us at Innovative-IDM for the impossible.

Our thanks to James Nairn who shows the kind of work we can do, no matter what the size.

Once Upon a Time at Kickoff…

January 28, 2014

I have to say, Kickoff was amazing this year. Out of all of the kickoffs I have been to, this was by far, my favorite one. Everyone seemed really pumped up and enthusiastic this year. Each person got to meet unfamiliar fellow workers and exchange trading cards. It was a genius idea that got everyone involved and interacting with each other. It was a great way for everyone to meet each other.

I also had a really great team this year. Everyone on the team worked really well together and everyone chipped in and participated! Each person had a function and did it well. Even if we had not won first place, we all still learned a lot, had fun and enjoyed kickoff! That’s a real win in my book! These guys and gal made their captain proud! I look forward to next year’s kickoff.

This was my all time favorite team kickoff photo!

Visionaries Kicking Off in White Water

January 28, 2014

exponential growth

During Les McKeown’s speech, it didn’t take many of us very long to make the correlation between his experiences and our recent woes as a company. After dropping revenue goals twice in a year, some may have assumed the worst and thought we had hit out revenue cap. That we, as a family, couldn’t reach any higher to achieve more with what we had. In a way we were right. We just didn’t know why.

I listened intently. Drawing observations of our structure, our goals and our people I was able to see exactly what I needed to do and what we as a company could do to move through our trials and tribulations.

We have the structure in place in parts and building processes for others, but with the new vision and with our new found knowledge. We now know why we are in the place we are and I do believe the entirety of the Innovative family can and will succeed in the near future, as well as the long term. Our newly hired Processors will give us the structure we need to build higher and forge forward. Adding in the innovation and inclusion of “6 Sigma” into our every action will keep us lean, refined and not overburdened with redundant tasks and processes; especially with us Visionaries in the mix and charging everything up 6S style.

I know what I need to do in the near and far to help Innovative IDM grow and succeed.

The question is… What do you have to do?

President’s Club 2014 Alumni Dinner

January 28, 2014

I really enjoyed the PC Alumni dinner this year. We have a great time catching up, having cocktails and watching a photo slide show with highlights from all past President’s Club trips. The first trip was in early 2007 for the 2006 winners, Adam Ring, Tim Mueller and Tammy Gray. It was a 3 day trip to Las Vegas that year. Man had the trip gotten a bit more Legendary since then. This year’s winners, Andrew L., Britt W., Carrie C., Dale F., Donnie C., Jeff R., Jon D., Matt M., Tammy G., set sail on April 5th on Celebrity – Reflection departing from Miami, Florida then hitting ports in San Juan, Puerto Rico; Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas; Philipsburg, St. Maarten before returning to Miami, Florida on April 12th. It’s a well deserved trip for some Legendary Innovative-IDM talent.

Top 10 things you plan on doing with your left over trading cards

10) Build a little shrine to yourself in the back of the hall closet … Just to freak out the spouse and kids
9) Sell them on ebay and wait for the money to roll in
8) Sneak into the post office and staple them over the real pictures on the wanted posters
7) Hand them out in singles bars, and snap a picture of their face when they realize your nuts
