Other controllers just follow…

July 18, 2013

Recently a customer called our support team complaining about an alignment issue in their dual belt drive system. As the machine was in motion the second carriage would lag the first carriage ever so slightly, but would always catch up at the end of the move. we noticed the error followed the motors and determined that the integrator had used the industry common Gearing (Camming or Following) design in the controller to synchronize the two units. The gear ratio programmed was a 1:1, but the result was a slight lag. Why? To read the full story Click Here.

SMC NC(D)Y2S, Magnetically Coupled Rodless Cylinder, Slider Type

July 15, 2013

SMC, NC(D)Y2S, Magnetically Coupled Rodless Cylinder, Slider Type

Magnetically coupled cylinders save space and have a wide range of applications. The NCY series can be used in many diverse environments, because there is no external leakage. The use of a linear guide makes loading and moments, directly on the cylinder possible. T-Slots on the mounting surfaces provides mounting freedom, and a variety of guides can be used to achieve the necessary accuracy or moment needed for your application. A top cover can be mounted over the sliding section of the cylinder to prevent scratches and damage, and centralized piping minimizes mounting space. The NCY is available in 6 bore sizes 6mm through 40mm and strokes up to 80 inches are standard. Auto switches are available AC /DC and in reed, solid state and 2 color output.

Buzz in Rare Form on Oasis of the Seas

July 11, 2013

The cool thing about being a company mascot at Innovative-IDM is that you are invited to all company functions, including the prestigious President’s Club trip of high performers. The frustrating thing about taking a mascot for seven days on Oasis of the Seas is that you never really know where he is or what he is up to. Because there’s no phone service, Buzz can’t even be texted or called for check-in. So, he shows up all over the place. We always just hope he gets home OK and shows up for dinner the next night. The are just the pictures that passed censorship — we can’t even show some of Buzz’s predicaments and situations.
