!Power Outage @ Innovative Automation!

March 24, 2010

About 10 am yesterday morning, operations here at Innovative Automation came to an abrupt halt.  We had a Yaskawa VFD training class going on with over a dozen customers attending when this took place and everyone quickly filed out of the darkness.  Luckily this gave our Legendary Customer Service Team a chance to interact face to face with some customers!  What would we do without power? Take care of our customers of course!

What a Difference a Day Makes

March 17, 2010

In yesterday’s entry, we showed you the old control box that was sent in as a model to use to build a new one. The control box is for side-of-the-building construction elevators. Here’s the new beauty our panel shop build by working with nothing but looking at the old one.

UL508A Panel Challenge

March 16, 2010

We recently exhibited at the Design2Part show in Grapevine and had lots of inquiries about our panel shop. I always tell this visual story about retrofitting. The customer sent us in this panel to “redo.” I’ll post a photo how we did tomorrow.

‘Et tu, Brute?’

March 15, 2010

Beware, the Ides of March (March 15), the day Caesar was assassinated in 44 B.C. The words “And you, too, Brutus?” have become Shakespearean symbolism for the ultimate betrayal.

Very little automation or controls in this scene, except for the automation of all of the daggers and knives.

Today is the Ides of March. Are you wary, or simply thinking about the green beer you’ll jam on in 48 hours?

Reason #940 to Work at Innovative Automation: Fajita Friday

March 5, 2010

Today is Fajita Friday at Innovative Automation. Everyone kicks in $6, then Michael Mueller, organizer and Chief Chef, starts smoking the fish, chicken and beef.

This photo shows Michael a few minutes ago working his craft against the gentle backdrop of the trash dumpster. We had to close the door to our warehouse because there was so much smoke going in from the smoker.

Texas Independence Day — March 2

March 2, 2010

Today is Texas Independence Day, the day Texas became a sovereign nation as the Republic of Texas and broke from Mexico. It’s an official holiday here in Texas — not the kind you get off of work from, but a holiday nonetheless.

If you’ve ever been confounded about how to fly the Texas flag, just remember what my 7th grade teacher used to tell us: “Blood on the ground!”
